I first encountered this fairy tale around the same time I first encountered nettles, which were a common weed around RAF Lakenheath, by crawling over a patch of them on my hands and knees. The idea of a girl having to make seven shirts out of them in order to save her brothers from an enchantment made quite an impression!
This has always been one of my favorites.
I’ve always loved this story.
