fucktheory: It’s Not A Spoiler, It’s In The Trailer More importantly, I’m increasingly annoyed by the fact that Hollywood has completely given up on the notions of plot and development.  Movies are basically just concept and climax at this point.  You expect to get taken out to dinner and instead you end up with a quick and dirty hookup.  Prometheus was very well-made and visually exceptional, but the first half of the movie is set-up and exposition, and the entire second half is basically one long climax sequence.  If you take the time to put a little character development in between the two, we might actually give a shit when the main characters start kicking the bucket.
