On July 23, 1982, The International Whaling Commission voted to end commercial whaling by 1985-86.
These oil paintings by Lee W. Court were done in 1969 while he was aboard the Chilean vessel “Achilles.” The first painting is titled, “Killer Whale.” In our catalog, you can view 15 paintings from his voyage.
Of course, you can still whale for “scientific research”, the research in question apparently being “what does that whale over there taste like?”
